Substitute Teachers are needed to fill assignments at Traverse City Public Schools (TCAPS). PCMI is seeking individuals who currently hold a Bachelor Degree, to work with students as a substitute teacher. A Bachelor Degree is required and accepted in any field of study, with education being preferred. PCMI provides Substitute Teachers to all buildings within the TCAPS District. As a PCMI Substitute Teacher you choose which buildings and grade level you prefer as well as the days and times you are available to work. This is the perfect position to provide you income while seeking further employment, a college student that can’t accept full time employment due to class schedule, or retiree that is seeking employment around your schedule.

These positions involve all duties connected with managing a classroom of students. Must be able to maintain positive control of classroom to ensure learning objectives are achieved per lesson plans provided. A positive attitude and ability to work well with students, administrators and staff is required.

This position pays 65.04 per day.

This is a Part Time, Temporary position located in Traverse City.

Northwest Michigan Council of Governments (NWMCOG) is seeking a part-time, temporary employee or intern to coordinate the PowerPath program at Northwest Michigan Works!. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or be seeking a bachelor’s degree in a human services field, with emphasis on assisting students and/or adults with learning difficulties or disabilities. The person chosen for the position will implement PowerPath screenings in the Northwest Michigan Works! Service Centers, and will educate agency staff about the program. Travel throughout Northwest Michigan is required.

SUMMARY:

Facilitate the integration of PowerPath screenings into the Northwest Michigan Works! system by delivering screenings and engaging the assistance of service center staff.

Responsibilities, Essential Duties and Functions:

An intern in this position may be called upon to perform any or all of the following essential duties. These examples do not include all of the duties which the employee may be expected to perform.

• Learn and fully understand the PowerPath system – its value, limitations, role in serving customers, and the significance of screening results.

• Become an expert and the “go to” person for PowerPath screenings.

• Establish a regular schedule of PowerPath screenings in the 3 primary Northwest Michigan Works! service centers and coordinate logistics, sign-up for attendance, and use of facilities.

• Educate Northwest Michigan Works! staff on the PowerPath system and assist in the determination of appropriate referrals.

• Recruit center staff to assist in delivery of screenings and integration of the screenings into the overall system.

• Document all aspects of project activities for future reference to ensure ongoing integration of the PowerPath program within the Northwest Michigan Works! system.

• Travel to all centers is required.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

All the following, or equivalent, are required:

1. Currently in Bachelor’s Degree program focusing on social work, human services, or education, and interested in assisting adults with learning difficulties.

2. Ability to track and document activities in an organized and easy to understand manner.

3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

4. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

5. Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office products.

6. Possession of a valid driver’s license and insurable to drive agency vehicles.

Salary:
$ 8.00 per hour.

Other Requirements:
You must possess a private drivers license.
