This is a Full Time, Regular Employee position located in Interlochen.
DATES: Second Semester – Jan 16, 2011 – May 28, 2012 RESPONSIBILITIES: The Filmmaker-in-Residence for Production Post Production Emphasis is a one-semester position teaching secondary students in the Motion Picture Arts Division. Teaching responsibilities include one section of Production Workshop and one section of Post-Production. As a part of Production Workshop, the FIR is also responsible for weekly Thesis Advisor meetings with a share of Thesis Students student productions development guidance from script to screen. Other responsibilities include scheduled tutorials with students, department activities, regular meetings, and daytime evening rehearsals, casting and location productions. Professional behavior and appropriate use of facilities equipment required. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have an in depth understanding of post-production techniques, the Final Cut Studio 2 suite of software and a working knowledge of an XSAN professional work flow. Experience with location production, equipment and safety is required. Teaching experience is required. Previous experience working in a high school setting with secondary education students is desired. In addition, expertise in Animation and Compositing is a plus. COMPENSATION: Filmmakers-in-Residence are provided with a classroom office, computer, e-mail network account, lunch, one-bedroom apartment, stipend of7500.00 optional insurance, a formal screening of work. They also enjoy the camaraderie of other filmmakers and the pleasure challenge of teaching young filmmakers.
